North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)

NATO is a coalition of Western European nations, along with the U.S. and Canada. It was created shortly after World War II and served as the primary counter to Communist and Soviet expansion in Europe. Member countries with playable units include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.


Units & Structures

Note: This list is not comprehensive and changes will be made as the mod develops.

1950s

Rifleman: Basic infantry unit, armed with a standard-issue M14.

Machine Gunner: Basic infantry unit, armed with a light machine gun.

Bazookaman: Infantry unit capable of inflicting heavy structure damage and anti-tank assaults.

Sniper: Advanced infantry unit, capable of picking off other infantry at great distance and scouting large areas.

Jeep: Fast, light, and inexpensive, the Jeep is an excellent reconnaissance vehicle armed with a light machine gun an the ability to transport small infantry groups.

M4A3 Sherman Tank: Primary medium tank developed during WW2, equipped with a cannon and a light machine gun.

M48 Patton Heavy Tank: Primary heavy main battle tank named for General Patton. Various versions kept this design in service well into the Cold War, and would eventually lead to the M60.

M7 Priest SPG: Self-propelled artillery with long range and devastating effect on structures and clustered stationary units.

F-80C Shooting Star: One of the first American combat jets to enter service. It saw extensive service in the Korean War, earning many kills against North Korean Yak-9s.

F-86 Sabre: The American answer to the Soviet MiG-15 employed by North Korean air forces, the Sabre played a large role in the Korean War.

B-45 Tornado: America's first operational jet bomber, and the first multi-jet engined bomber in the world to be refuelled in midair. It is succeeded by the B-47 Stratojet.

B-47 Stratojet: Although the Stratojet never saw combat, it was designed to be a strategic bomber to fly over Soviet territory carrying nuclear bombs. It served reconnaissance and electronic warfare roles in the 1960s before being retired as a bomber in 1965.

B-52 Stratofortress: The longest-serving bomber aircraft to date, this heavy bomber is capable of carpet-bombing cities and can carry nuclear weapons.

F-51D Mustang: Although as a fighter it was outclassed by new jet fighters such as the P-80 and F-86, the Republic of Korea made extensive use of the Mustang's ground attack abilities and long flight range early in the Korean War.

Centurion Tank: British Army main battle tank used in Korea, in Vietnam in the Australian Armored Corps, and in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. It would later be used by Israel in the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War.

Iowa-Class Battleship: The famous ship class of the U.S.S. Missouri, the Iowa-class was first developed and used in World War II in the Pacific. In the Korean War they were used for shore bombardment. In Vietnam, the U.S.S. New Jersey provided seaborne artillery support.

Essex-Class Aircraft Carrier: The backbone of U.S. naval aviation operations and the precursor to the supercarriers of the 1960s and onward, no Essex-class carriers were sunk in combat.

Missileer: Infantry unit capable of inflicting heavy structure damage and anti-tank assaults.

1970s

F-14 Tomcat: Naval air interceptor employed by American forces beginning in 1972. It sported advanced avionics capable of engaging up to four targets at once, compared to the F/A-18's two.
